Week 29ish: สงกรานต์ (songkran)

3. สงกรานต์

Hey so it is pday again, the third one in the last week and a half. The pday schedule for this month is a little crazy - we have pday today because it is Thai new year which we celebrate with a giant water festival!! I currently have two water guns and a bunch of water balloons and my phone is in a plastic bag and a special protective case as I type this. Currently on the BTS, completely soaked and dripping wet, coming back from a day full of people throwing water at each other!! Can't express how fun สงกรานต์ is. Picture this: Bangkok. A really busy city and people everywhere. But now imagine everyone has water guns and buckets full of water and everyone is soaking each other. HUNDREDS of people. And everyone is wearing these super flashy Hawaiian shirts. Thailand is the BEST!! so today was pretty packed which is why I haven't answered a single email or really talked with anyone. It's okay though because next time I email on the 23rd I will get to tell you all about the prophet coming to Thailand! President Nelson will be in Thailand a week from tomorrow and we are very excited!! Since I just emailed on Monday there isn't a ton to report on so I will list out a few random thoughts...

-members are the best! We have really been trying to have members help us teach lessons with us and it has
helped us so much! Not only do they speak better Thai than us and understand what the investigator says, but a lot of them were Buddhist before they jointed the church so they can relate well with the investigators. Plus it helps our investigators to see that not only missionaries believe what we teach!! This one member named ตาต้า (dada) comes from Asoke, 45 minutes away, to help us teach our Chinese investigator and whoever else we have. She is the BEST!!

-sister Cabangil is awesome!! I love being companions with her. She is so funny and bubbly and so encouraging and nice! She thinks she is too skinny and has a goal to be fat and I want the opposite so we are helping each other. Stay tuned.

-our laundry machine is on a little outdoor porch outside of our condo and the door broke and wouldn't move so we had to call the maintenance guy to come fix it. He successfully took off the door but he said he didn't have the piece to fix it so he just left our door off and said he would fix it after สงกรานต์ so we currently have a very hot condo

Anyways that is all I have time for today! I love Thailand and I LOVE being a missionary! I love Jesus Christ and I am so privileged to be His servant in บางนา (Bangna)!!

Love you all! Read the scriptures everyday!!
