Week 7: BABY THAI

Fun week! Here is what happened....

1. NAMETAGS
We got our Thai name tags this week! I will attach photos below because they are super cool. And I can actually read it, so that is awesome!

2. Volleyball
I have gotten way better at volleyball here because we play it almost everyday, but it is still not my forte. People always clap and cheer when I get the ball over the net because they are in shock. 4 Square is awesome as usual. We have fun here at the MTC!

3. BABY THAI
So we got more missionaries in our zone this week and we welcomed 10 new Sisters and 5 new Elders! 6 of the Sisters and 1 of the Elders are going to Thailand and we were really excited to welcome them and reflect on what it was like when I first got here.

4. International Hosting!
We got to host the new international missionaries this week, which means we got to check them in and get them settled at the MTC! I hosted 8 sisters this week which is a ton. I had some from Hong Kong, Myanmar, South Korea, Quebec, Malaysia, and THAILAND!! It was so fun welcoming these sisters to America and to the MTC! I got to practice my Thai, reading and speaking, with the Thai sisters and they said I was skilled but I don't believe them haha. Also, when I hosted the sister from Quebec, I realized that I have forgotten all of my French (and Spanish for that matter) which made me sad but also happy because when I first got here, I knew no Thai and all I could think was French and Spanish. But now my brain is wired for Thai and it is cool to realize how much I have learned since I have been here. A lot of Thai words have become automatic for me so maybe I will learn this language someday!

5. Bye Germany!
We had a bunch of sisters going to Germany who lived on the same floor as me and they all left this week :( They got here after us so it is weird that they left before us too, even though they were here for 6 weeks. They gave me Tim Tams before they left and that was a huge blessing but then I ate half the pack in one morning...oops.

6. MCKAY
I was walking back from the temple this week and instead of taking the short cut back like we usually do, someone said we should take the long way back. We did and I saw my friend McKay driving down the road so she stopped and said hi! It was random but so nice! I almost forgot there was a life outside the MTC...

Other than that, a pretty good week. I don't have a lot more time to email right now but I just want to make sure that you know I LOVE JESUS CHRIST! I am serving a mission for Him and I am doing His work. Want to be happier? Read the Book of Mormon and apply it to your life. Pray. Talk with the missionaries! I hope you all have an AWESOME week! I love you all!
