Week 22: TRIO means there times the fun

Image
1. The dream team  hellllllloooooooooooooooooo from Thailand! So this last week was transfers and I am now in a trio. Sister Ballif and I stayed here and we have a greenie, Sister Janjarus!! We are in a trio and it is so fun! I am now sleeping on the couch so I feel right at home (I fell asleep on the couch all the time at home/BYU). Sister Janjarus is from eastern Thailand and she is only with us for 4 weeks or so before she heads over to the MTC in Provo, Utah and then will serve in the the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square mission. So I practice my Thai with her and she speaks English with me. Good system! Having a greenie has helped me recognize how much progress I have made in the last 5 months. I can (and do) talk with and invite everyone I see. I can teach lessons and I can help people come unto Christ. I have SO far to go and I know so little, but it is cool to see how far I can come. I didn't recognize it until Sister Janjarus said I was skilled at talking with ...

I am staying here in Bangna with Sister Ballif BUT (wait for it...) we are getting a greenie from Thailand! So we will be in a trio and training! The greenie from Thailand will only be here for 3-4 weeks before she heads off to America to serve in the Salt Lake City Temple Square mission. So this is a really unusual circumstance but I am so excited to see how this goes! Also, usually we get transfer calls on Tuesday night but we weren't called until Wednesday morning which was kind of stressful. So stay tuned for this next transfer, it is going to be crazy!! Man I don't even remember what happened this last week and a half, we did so much!! We had a really fun English class a few weeks ago where we taught about weather and we showed them a fire drill. I got a fat lip playing basketball at sports night. We have 3 new people who are getting baptized!! Sorry we do so much I need to write it down, we are so busy! Life is way good in Bangna so our greenie is going to be so...

Week 20: baptism and miracles!!!

Image
สวัสดีค่ะ what a week!! This week was full of awesome ups and downs. Here we go.... 1. ขิม (Kim) got baptized on Sunday! She is thr cutest and she already fits in so well with the ward.  2. We got a referral from Nagina, one of our investigators, on Tuesday. Her name is Sophia and she came to English class with Nagina. We talked about prayer with her and gave her a Book of Mormon and when we met with her on Thursday, she asked some great questions and it was such a great lesson! Excited to see how she will progress.   3. We had interviews with President Johnson this week and it is always so awesome to talk with him!  4. Miracle: we were visiting a recent  convert when we got a phone call from an investigator of ours who was about to get baptized and then stopped picking up our phone calls. We were really confused and sad when she stopped talking with us 3 days before she was supposed to get baptized so we were so happy to get that call! We...

Week 19: I get roasted and SO MANY MIRACLES

Image
Helllllooo my phone just stopped working so I am going to quickly send out an email from my companion Sister Ballif's phone. This week was crazy hard and good. We had zone conference this week and it was a great opportunity to learn more about how to be a better missionary. It was quite apparent that there are a lot of things I need to do better so I was a little upset with myself for not being a better missionary in the first place. I was feeling a little subdued the next day because of all the things I needed to do better so I got a priesthood blessing from one of the Elders serving in บางนา  with us. The words he said were just what I needed to hear and I know that they were inspired by the Spirit so I am so grateful for the priesthood and the ways it blesses my life.  This week was FULL of miracles. We taught so many great lessons and had so many miracles. We found 9 new people to teach and a lot more potentials to teach. I know that the Lord has prepared so many ...
